Here is a video of me digging a coin spill from the river with my Garrett AT Pro. In all, I have recovered 178 silver coins dating from 1837 and before from this site. Sorry about all of the "check it out"s in the video, but I was just a tad excited. Be sure to check out the end of the video if you get too bored to make it all the way through.

There is no “best” metal detector. It’s like asking “what’s the best vehicle to drive?”. A F350 is very different and built for different purposes than a Prius. But you can plan on spending at least $700 for a decent metal detector.
Thats good. Congats on finding them . I really enjoy watching your river finds video’s. Thanks for sharing. EP
North eastern? lol
Congrats again! I see they posted your finds and experience in the Garrett News Letter.
Oh no… you mean there’s still MORE! Good Luck!
I live in Maryland, but detect in PA, MD, VA, WV and a few other states.
I don’t sell my finds, but have them put away for now.
I found them at a river crossing. I figure someone on horseback or a wagon got swept over when the river was running high. They probably died or had to move on before the river went back down.
No appraisal yet. Got to get the rest of them first!
Let’s just say Eastern U.S…..

take a physic to the area after you have hunted it out and see what the impression is of the area and ask about the circumstances of the coins being lost or hidden.the cache or spill lends itself to many questions.thanks for sharing this video ,it was a amazing find of a lifetime.
